How am I going to give tuition this week if I am throwing up every morning? And I have at least three cake orders to fulfill! Thank goodness Hui Min is helping me out with packing and delivery. I hope she doesn’t find a job soon, heehee. Fresh English graduates without a job are so useful to have around (sorry sis!)
This wedding is so important. Mom is so excited about this that it seems she invited just about everyone she knows. I hope there are enough tables. I so want to please her. She never quite got over my decision to be a baker/tuiition teacher after graduating. I remember her rallying the relatives to talk me out of it. Never mind, this big wedding will make up for everything.
Thank goodness John’s bonus can cover the cost of my Big Fat Singapore Wedding. Having a fiance who is a well-paid investment banker has its advantages.
Sometimes though, I wonder if I am doing the right thing. John keeps so many things to himself and we’ve known each other for only a year. One year, one month and 6 days, to be exact. Is this long enough for two people to know each other and get married? I don’t even know what John really does in the bank.
Who could have known we’d end up together that day when I saw him in the book store over at the car magazine rack, and I was heading for the cake books?
Speaking of baking, that year-long Paris baking course is such an opportunity. I hope my application is successful. Fingers crossed.
