I really hate to badger you about this, Leng, but you and John have to make the down payments for the photo shoot in Bali. The hotel can’t guarantee our rooms until we pay the 10% deposit, because it’s peak season in Bali now. I tried sweet-talking the manager into holding our rooms without the deposit, but he was, sadly, immune to my charm. This means that we have to settle the airfare, location booking, and hotel deposit by the end of next week, otherwise, we’re going to lose all our bookings.
On a more cheerful note, I’m really glad you guys managed to work out out the not-so-little ang pow crisis. Leng, it was very sweet of your mother to let you and John keep all the ang pows. I told you not to worry so much, right?
Leng, have you given any more thought to your gown? I know you said you wanted something classic and not too plain, but that’s a bit too vague. Let’s start looking around together before the Bali trip, ok?
Oh, and one more thing – Leng, I need to confirm the number of extra tables your mother requested; was it 2 or 3?
I’d also like to introduce everyone to our official wedding photographer, Norman. He’s going to be working very closely with us as we get nearer to the big day, so I thought it would be more convenient for him to join the blog. Aren’t I a genius? Ha ha. Just kidding.
Say hi to Norman, everyone!

Hi, Norman! Welcome to the blog

Hallo, Norman. Eh, Norman, if you’re a photographer… that means you know a lot of models right?
September 18, 2009, 12:02 pm |
Boon Huat, can we please leave your social life out of this blog??
September 18, 2009, 12:04 pm |
Er, just curious, Hui Min.

Hi Norman! Thanks for reminding me about the photo shoot, Anna, I’ve been so flustered by the ang pow ‘crisis’ that it completely slipped my mind. It’s 2 tables, not 3, so the total will be 60 tables. John, could you settle the down payments for the photo shoot by the end of this week?
September 18, 2009, 12:06 pm |
I’m very busy this week. I don’t have time for all this right now. And what’s this about extra tables?!
September 18, 2009, 12:07 pm |
John, I told you, remember? It was one of Mum’s ‘conditions’ for agreeing to let us keep all the ang pows. Since you’re busy, John, don’t worry about settling the payments. Just transfer the cash to my account and I’ll handle everything, ok? I’m sure they gave you your bonus by now
Sometimes I think you work too hard in that (high-paying) stressful job of yours. I can’t complain, though, since you’re giving me the wedding of my dreams!

Guys, I’m really very busy right now. Can we settle this next week?
September 18, 2009, 12:09 pm |
The thing is, the longer we wait, the more we’ll have to pay for airfare. It’s only 4 tickets, and we’re flying budget, so it’s not that expensive. I’m also very worried that we’ll end up with nowhere to stay if we don’t get our rooms booked in time. Or even worse, we’ll have to stay at a backpacker hostel. Yuk. Shared showers. We also need a down payment for Norman to book the location for the shoot, or some other couple is going to beat us to it.
September 18, 2009, 12:09 pm |
Huh? 4 tickets? Who else is coming?
September 18, 2009, 12:10 pm |
Me, of course! I think Norman will be a little too busy snapping away to do any planning or organising!
September 18, 2009, 12:11 pm |
That’s true, actually. Also, don’t forget that we’re shooting on a weekday; the location that Hui Leng wants is fully booked through the weekend and Wednesday is the only other day that’s available.

Oh dear. John, you’d better apply for leave as soon as possible. You won’t have any problems getting leave, will you? I’m sure your boss won’t mind you taking some time off after all the hard work you’ve put in for him.
September 18, 2009, 12:13 pm |
Eh bro, you don’t need leave! You don’t have to report to the office after yesterday! Every day you have leave!
September 18, 2009, 12:14 pm |
What do you mean, ‘you don’t have to report to the office any more’?!?!
September 18, 2009, 12:15 pm |
Hi Norman, You and i have the same name :] Man , Okay lame joke.
September 18, 2009, 4:50 pm |
I like my name too.

You guys should go to France instead. I recently signed a 3 year lease on this castle there – it won’t be occupied till the end of the year. I’ll let you guys stay there for free. (The helipad is still under construction though.)
September 18, 2009, 5:35 pm |
That sounds very shiok! Eh John! Castle ok? You and Leng can be King and Queen of Bodoh, France!
September 18, 2009, 5:49 pm |
Why is their two not in the second paragraph, and hi Norman, nice to see you
September 19, 2009, 11:11 am |
Erm. Boon Huat, I don’t think there’s a place called “Bodoh” in France. And Boon Huat, I think you let the cat out of the bag!
September 22, 2009, 2:29 pm |
Hey, I don’t have a cat! And I surely will not put him inside a bag! I am not so cruel, you know.
October 8, 2009, 5:30 pm |
