Nothing like a home-cooked meal for an engagement party.

Haha! I have evidence to blackmail you with now, Boon – remember your table dance at the engagement party? Well, I have the video. Hee hee. I’m putting up some of the pictures taken at the engagement party. Enjoy! John, you really surprised me when we trounced Min’s Taboo team.

Thanks to Min for doing the table setting!

Steamed fish! Not exactly the most romantic dish but yummy anyway!

We had so many people going for second helpings that Boon had to help cook more rice!

My favourite dessert. Almond jelly! Yaaay! Also loved Leng's chocolate cake!

Since we are on the topic of food, the tasting session went well, I’d say – I’m amazed that nobody got stabbed with a fork. With all the tension from the arguments about shark’s fin soup and alcohol at the banquet, I actually considered getting my staff to unobtrusively remove all the knives from our table. Shudder. Leng, are you sure you won’t reconsider having shark’s fin? I know that you think it’s cruel (I have to agree with you, to be honest), but I don’t know how we’re going to get John’s parents to agree to us not serving any shark’s fin soup at the banquet.

John, I know you told me and Leng that you didn’t want alcohol to be served at the wedding, but I think that Leng’s folks may not back down on this. You saw how upset they were about it during the food tasting. On a happier note, I’m so glad that you guys were happy with the courses we selected. You know, my chef really went all out to create your signature wedding cake, and he’s so pleased that you all love it!

Before I forget – John, you actually put on weight?! Again? How could you? You HAVE to lose weight, and you have to do it fast. Luckily for you, I have a solution. :) I have a three-month membership voucher from California Fitness, and it looks like you’re going to be the lucky recipient.

We’re getting closer to the finish line, guys. I know everyone’s getting stressed, but we can pull through this – we’ve come this far already. I don’t know how we’re going to get everyone to see eye to eye about the shark’s fin and alcohol at the dinner, but we’ll have to find a way.

(private)Thanks, Anna. I’ll think about it, but after John’s objections, I promised him and myself that I would not have any shark’s fin soup at my wedding dinner, and I intend to keep that promise. And you can relax about Steven. He’s not trying to wreck the wedding, ok? I had dinner with him yesterday, and he’s coming over tomorrow evening to talk about it. Don’t tell John. He’ll get jealous for no reason.

Thanks for the gym membership, Anna. I’ll try to talk to my parents about the shark’s fin, but I doubt they’ll budge.

Man,just when I wanted to sleep(it’s already 3 in the morning, what do you expect a teenager to do?),the topic, “food’ came into mind.
Guess my stomach’s giving me a signal…

PS:Hope everyone do the SGEM(Speak Good English Movement)! It doesn’t mean Singlish is bad.It just means that English shouldn’t be forgotten.

English:
The ball,at an astounding rate, flew towards James who is already putting his hands up high, awaiting for the ball to be in his grasp.

Singlish:
The ballarh,go very fast one to James. He already over there with two two of his hands arh up to catch the ball.
